January 1, 2014

Well, no doubt you have noticed some changes on the Home Page of our website. Gone are the syndicated columnists.

Why? you ask...

Money. The licensing fees have gone through the roof. We, for one, do not make a single penny on this website. We don't ask for donations and even though we advertize a few products, guess what? No one buys!

So our net dollar profit for 2013 was $0.00, the same for 2012 and 2011.

Now, let's add up the costs for printing the articles from our 35 syndicated columnists. Between Creators Syndicate (which publishes 20 of the columnists we carried), the Washington Post Writer's Group (4 columnists); National Review, Tribune Media, King Syndicate and Universal Uclick (2 each) the price for licenses to reprint their pieces comes to $3640 per year. Without paying the fees I would only be able to carry Bernard Goldberg, Bert Prelutsky and Ron Paul.

Quite simply, in the Age of Obama, we can't afford it. So, we are pulling a Matt Drudge of sorts. The main push of this website now is simply covering the news that the main stream media refuses to talk about.

Also, I have decided to cut back on the number of articles I will be publishing from three per week (sometimes four) to just two (sometimes three).

Most of you know that I am a Christian Pastor with a small, but lively church in Windsor, Virginia. The people there are wonderful and supportive of almost everything I do and offer to them. But they need a little more of my time and initiative. So, I have decided that the better blessings I can receive stem from the time and treasure I can offer to my fellow church members.

Now for the other reasons behind these changes...

Health! That's mental, emotional and spiritual health.

I have witnessed, experienced, researched, and written about the decline and probable fall of our country over the last five years. Indeed, this decline began long before Barack Obama was elected President back in 2008. It actually had its beginning with the election of Woodrow Wilson some 100 years ago. But with Obama, the speed of demise has increased a hundred-fold.

I have felt my stomach tying up into knots, I have felt anger, my muscles tighten, my adrenalin rush, my heart rate increase drastically and my time being consumed with the pending destruction of the United States. I have been saddened, reduced to tears, and felt as if steam was pouring forth from my ears and blood spurting from my eye sockets each time I read or hear about "Hope and change" (you know, the lie that it is and having to understand this newspeak as "No Hope for us and No Change for a package of gun").

I have never had health problems -- knock on wood. But my blood pressure goes up with every lie coming from the lips of our President. My head explodes with every "new" idea he, or Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi or any other Progressive Democratic Socialist has because it always leads to more cobwebs growing inside my always empty wallet.

I loathe what my government has become. I am consumed with the idea of going into survival mode. I am constantly finding the need to have a couple years supply of food on hand, a fairly large stockpile of guns and ammo, taking potassium iodide pills to build up immunity to nuclear fallout and buying a couple of solar powered generators so I can go off the grid.  I have entertained thoughts of moving to the mountains of North Carolina and throwing away my cell phone and selling my televisions. Right now I think the only commodity I would need in my hidden underground bunker would be a radio to keep me informed in case of a declaration of Martial Law.

This is no way to live and it isn't worth ruining my health.

So, my resolution for 2014 is as follows: I will spend less time listening to AM Talk Radio (Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham) and more time listening to Big Bands and Old Time Radio on my new Antique-style Internet radio. I will be watching less television and spending more time reading good novels, short-stories and histories. I will devote more time to studying the Bible in its original languages, interpreting it and presenting it in a practical manner so the people with whom I share it can better appreciate its beauty.

I am in the process of converting my home office into a 1920's-style room, complete with the "retro-look" of high back Edwardian chairs and tables, table lights and shades from the 1920s, an old Crosley candle-stick telephone, and a couple of framed-photographs of my grandparents along with an 8"x10" picture of Calvin Coolidge. I bought the Coolidge in order to complete the look and feel of the room. After all, Coolidge's Presidency was last time we truly thrived as a nation, long before the secular-progressives and socialists sank their deadly teeth into our country's throat.

Oh, I will come down from the ivy tower to keep up with what the Democrats are doing to finish off the nation, and to find out what the Republicans are doing to accommodate them. I'll continue to post the headlines that nobody other than Breitbart, WND and Drudge will post. I'll continue to bring you my thoughts on the matter and make clear the issues the US faces with my columns. But I truly need to get away from the clap-trap and relax.

In other words, since I already know what's going on, and what will soon happen, I should spend more time in intercessory prayer, asking God to spare this country one last time. And even if God is done with the United States, I need to spend more time with my church, preparing them for what appears to be inevitable and providing them the strength to endure.

If it is at all possible and with God as your aid and help, may you have a blessed New Year - may all of 2014 be better than the last five years have been for all of us.

We believe that the Constitution of the United States speaks for itself. There is no need to rewrite, change or reinterpret it to suit the fancies of special interest groups or protected classes.
