MOVE 'EM ON, HEAD 'EM OUT!

October 7, 2009

It is quite possible that unless you subscribe to TV Land or some other Nostalgia TV cable station, that you might not remember the old western, Rawhide. The cast included Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates, the second in command to trail boss Gil Favor.  This show was the cattleman's answer to Wagon Train, considered by many to be the ultimate in TV westerns.

Nevertheless, what I remember about Rawhide, as a pre-teen was the theme. Strange as it may sound when I was young, I was most impressionable by music.  Tunes stood out more to me than girls!  Rawhide's theme was "Rollin', Rollin', Rollin" and the words of the chorus are still recalled to mind when I think of politics.

This should be the theme for the libertarian-conservative or, for that matter, the Constitution Party as we consider the fact that it is time for those who care about our nation, its values and traditions, to get up off the backside and take a stand against the demise of our society! It's time for conservative - Constitution-minded people to speak out and take a stand!

Consider these factors: Who is responsible for pressuring the Senate to cut off funding for ACORN, President Obama’s favorite “community organizers”?

Who pressured the Census Bureau to sever relations with ACORN regarding the 2010 Census?

Who exposed and forced the resignation of Obama’s “green jobs czar” Van Jones?

And, regarding the 800-pound gorilla on the policy front, who has led the fight against the Obama administration’s attempted takeover of healthcare?

It certainly wasn’t the Republican leaders in Congress. They are pursuing their favorite pastime whenever there’s a tough fight ahead — going AWOL. And they’re not even having fun in Argentina.

It certainly wasn’t the mainstream (i.e., liberal) media. The liberal media’s mother ship, The New York Times, didn’t cover the ACORN corruption story until the Senate defunded them, or say anything about Van Jones’s communist background and “9/11 truther” affiliation until after he resigned.

And it certainly was not big business. No, big business — Wall Street in regard to bailouts, Big Pharma in the case of Obamacare — has been in a cozy relationship with the most socialist administration in American history. It reminds you that President Obama is squarely in the tradition of Benito Mussolini, who governed Italy with a coalition of big business and big government called “corporatism.”

No, only grass-roots conservatives, using the new and alternative media, have been responsible for these victories and gains.

It is grass-roots conservatives, through town halls, tea parties, a march on Washington, talk radio, Fox News, direct mail, the Internet, blogs, YouTube, Twitter, and other alternative media, who are responsible for stalling this powerful combination of big government and big business.

Friday’s Washington Post has an article that reads: "In the high-stakes battle over health care, the White House and the drug lobby make an unusual — and unusually powerful — team." That’s true in terms of its power. But what’s so unusual about this coalition? After all, under Obamacare the health insurers and drug companies will be handed 30 million newly insured customers — and you will be forced to participate, even if you cannot afford health insurance.

No wonder the drug companies spent $92 million in lobbying during the first half of 2009. They spend millions (with an m) to get billions (with a b) in the payoff. Politicians are relatively cheap to buy.

And we saw this before with the bailouts. Wall Street backed Obama in the 2008 presidential race, and he made sure they got what they wanted, at your taxpayer expense.

As conservative writer Allan C. Brownfeld has noted, when the U.S. Chamber of Commerce gave its annual “Spirit of Enterprise” awards this year, the Republicans who did not get awards were the few conservatives who opposed the bailouts and the “stimulus” package, such as Texas Rep. Ron Paul and Sens. Jon Kyl (Arizona), Jeff Sessions (Alabama), Jim Inhofe (Oklahoma), and Jim DeMint (South Carolina).

Which brings me back to the big establishment media, where the key personnel are 99 percent free of conservative additives, and which is owned, of course, by big business conglomerates. For both ideological and pocketbook reasons, therefore, the big establishment media can be considered an arm of the Obama administration. And that explains the stories they cover, and the stories they do not cover.

Jon Banner, executive producer of ABC’s “World News,” spoke for his colleagues in his contempt for conservative concerns: "There’s a tremendous amount of — for lack of a better world — ‘noise’ out there. We’re not in the business of noise."

The fight over Obamacare will be resolved in the next two months. It’s time for us to raise the noise level. It's time to Head 'em up, move 'em out, Move 'em on, head 'em out.  It's time to get the liberal's and their agenda as well as do-nothing Republicans who hold the line for Neo-Cons headed up, moved out, moved on and headed out to pasture and retirement.

Speak up America!

We believe that the Constitution of the United States speaks for itself. There is no need to rewrite, change or reinterpret it to suit the fancies of special interest groups or protected classes.
