for July 6, 2021

So I took the day off as part of my fourth of July holiday. I don't work on Mondays, so the next day is taken as the so-called "paid day-off." But I went in anyway.

Why? Because my secretary needed me for a few things, one of which is a small project she hasn't done before and we are going to start re-implementing in the worship services. That is, putting our announcements back on display prior to and immediately after the worship service via Power Point. We used to do that Pre-Covid. In fact, I was the one who did the slides for the announcements and was set to turn that responsibility over to Shirley last year. Now, with everybody returning to the worship service inside, we can dispense with me spending 6 to 8 minutes giving announcements prior to the service and just let everyone read them from off the overhead screen.

We do print the announcements in the bulletin, but, as is the case in nearly all churches, no one reads the bulletin. I know, "Why print one?"

Anyway, I went to the office, did some work and one of my deacons, Jimmy Babb, purveyor, CEO and President of Babb Farms of Windsor, VA, brought Shirley and me some corn. Freshly picked sweet corn! Just thinking about it, and I feel like I am in heaven. Janice is going to have to cook me some ears tonight!

There is not much to talk about today unless I want to rail against the Democrats again. I gets old doing that, doesn't it?

Here is an article I read this morning before getting out of bed. The title caught my attention. It isn't that I, nor most thinking Americans didn't already know it, but the facts brought out in the sunlight are always enlightening.

Majority Of Americans Believe That ‘Others,’ Not Biden, Are Calling The Shots In The White House: Poll

Anyway, the article said that the poll was released by the Convention of States Action in partnership with The Trafalgar Group. The poll, which was conducted toward the end of June, surveyed more than 1,000 likely voters for the upcoming 2022 midterm elections.

Here are some of the key findings:

  • 56.5% of American voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 36.4% believe he is directing all policy and agenda
  • 31.7% of Democrat voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 58.6% believe he is directing all policy and agenda
  • 83.6% of Republican voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 11% believe he is directing all policy and agenda
  • 58.4% of Independent voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 36.1% believe he is directing all policy and agenda
  • Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action said “President Lincoln’s famous refrain that you can’t fool all of the people all of the time has never been more relevant and critical to the survival of our American Republic. The American people deserve transparency from the Biden Administration as to the true state of the President’s mental and physical health, and leaders in both parties in Congress need to follow through on this immediately.” He went on to note that “the continued failure to ask hard questions and demand real answers is a disgrace to the foundation of our democracy.”

The poll comes after former Obama White House doctor Ronny Jackson, who is now a Republican congressman out of Texas, said over the weekend that he believes that Biden is “demonstrating every single day that there is something going on.”

Jackson noted that one doesn't “need to be a physician to look at this behavior and see there’s something concerning happening. You can go back – there’s forty years of tape of this man – he’s always made gaffes and stuff but these are different, he’s confused, he’s disoriented.”

“We all know people who are 100-years old, who basically are as sharp as a tack, and we know people who are in their mid-60’s that having some cognitive difficulties…and I think he’s on that end of the spectrum,” Jackson continued. “He’s just not aging gracefully at this point. I’m just asking them, when you do the physical exam include the cognitive assessment. As far as I’m concerned the standard precedent has been set and they need to follow and do the same.”

Famed podcast host Joe Rogan took a swipe at Biden at the end of last month, saying that it was obvious that Biden was not all there.

When talking about the state of the nation, Rogan said “We’re unhinged in a lot of ways and we’re not anchored down by a real leader. You know, we don’t really have a real leader in the country, anymore. I mean, you can say Joe Biden is the president, he’s our leader, and you’d be correct on paper. But I mean, everybody knows he’s out of his mind. He’s just, he’s barely hanging in there.”

The question then becomes: "Who is calling the shots?" Conventional wisdom says it is Barack Obama, along with Susan Rice and Biden's Chief-of-Staff Ron Klain. You can't leave out Sen. Chuck Schumer, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other key Democrats in Congress - Bernie Sanders, too!

With all these Leftists pulling the strings, a final question remains: Will we make it to the mid-term elections and, second, will we be lucky enough to get the Democrats out of power in both houses?

I am trying not to be negative, but my mantra is: "Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best!"

Blog for July 5 Blog for July 7

Blogs are about the blogger. It's as if he or she merely toots their own horns about the things they do, say and love.

My life is boring. I read, I watch Glenn Beck and Mark Levin. I listen to Andrew Wilkow. I engage in some conversation with those who are willing to listen (they being masochistic and enjoy killing themselves with my banter).

I plan on just laying out the things that bother me and the things I love. Nothing in-between. I hope you find whatever I put here amusing.
