WRITING & RANTING

WAITING OF ELSA - A NON-EVENT???

Here I sit in the early afternoon, awaiting for Elsa, a tropical depression that is supposed to drop about 2 inches of rain on us. Also, since it is travelling to the south and west of us, we are in the path of possible tornadoes. Although no tornado watches or warnings have been posted, the place not to be when a Low Pressure Cell approaches is on it's north-east quadrant. This is especially true is the barometric pressure is below 1000 millibars, (29.52 inches of mercury).

Hey, remember? I was thinking of becoming a meteorologist at one time and took some courses in atmospheric sciences.

Right now the barometer is at 30.05 and not showing any signs yet of falling, but it will as Elsa is currently cross the South Carolina line into North Carolina. Her center is 223 miles away and bearing down toward us.

Let me give you my prognostication. Many of the models (European, American, Canadian, North American, et. al.) are now saying we should get 30 to 40 MPH winds, wind gust of no more than 50 MPH, possible high level tornadic activity with maybe one or two touching down, 2 inches or less or rain and some tidal flooding. I say in my area of Chesapeake (Western Branch), we will get less than 1 inch of rain, winds of 25 to 30 MP, with only a few gusts of 40 MPH for about two hours, no tornadoes, and minor flooding in low lying areas.

Historically (or at least since 1985), we get the worst tropical weather (hurricanes, tropic storms) when the low pressure is very near the coast of Northern North Carolina and Virginia, or when it is just a few miles to our west as it passes. When it is about 80 or more miles to the west (that this one seems to be headed) or if it is more than 50 miles out in the Atlantic, we may get rain and winds, but it is not devastating, unless it is at a Cat 3 or higher force.

This one is not going to be Tropical Storm force and is picking up speeds so it will race through and almost be a non-event for us. I suspect it will take less than 5 minutes to pick up the small sticks and twigs that fall from my trees tonight.

I did not go outside last night and listen to Beethoven like I said I would. It was just too muggy and those damn May flies (Deer or Horse flies if you call them that) were biting to beat the band. My Thermacell Mosquito Repellent doesn't keep those nasty buggers away. So I came inside watched an episode of Blue Bloods, then read a chapter or two from David Horowitz' The Enemy Within. I, then, went to bed. It was before 10:30. I slept like a baby too!

Today being Thursday, I went to the office for about two-and-a-half hours, finished my office work and came back home before the rain started. It has only rained for about twenty minutes so far and that was about an hour ago.

I have nothing more to report and nothing to complain about right now. That is because I didn't read and of today's articles on "The Report" - the app I use to get all the TRUE news as printed by the conservative news sources from Breitbart, the Blaze, the Washington Times, and the Epoch Times to the Gateway Pundit, the Bongino Report, Daily Wire, Real Clear Politics and Townhall. I highly recommend that app! So I guess it is time to peruse it and get mad as there will be reports on what the Biden Administration is going to do next to ruin our nation, along with the Democrats and those contemptible Communists we softly call "The Far-Left." I like what Andrew Wilkow once called them: The Radical, Progressive, Uber, Extreme Far-Left Marxist-Communists." On a scale of 0-100 with 0 being Anarchy and 100 being totalitarian Marxism, these folks are somewhere around 179!

First off, let me take some downers and then get to reading. If I don't write something tomorrow, I will probably have stroked out.

Blogging

Blogs are about the blogger. It's as if he or she merely toots their own horns about the things they do, say and love.

My life is boring. I read, I watch Glenn Beck and Mark Levin. I listen to Andrew Wilkow. I engage in some conversation with those who are willing to listen (they being masochistic and enjoy killing themselves with my banter).

I plan on just laying out the things that bother me and the things I love. Nothing in-between. I hope you find whatever I put here amusing.
